 Dr. Srikanth, an ASMBS Center of Excellence Bariatric Surgeon, has performed over 2,900 weight loss surgeries and over 1,900 laparoscopic weight loss surgeries. He performs virtually every operation that is currently available to treat this disease: the Sleeve Gastrectomy, Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (Lap-Band), Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass (Proximal and Medial) and Laparoscopic Duodenal Switch. He has performed several laparoscopic Revision surgeries – conversion from Adjustable Gastric Band to Sleeve Gastrectomy, Duodenal Switch, Proximal and Medial Gastric Bypass, and Laparoscopic repositioning/replacement of Adjustable Gastric Band. He has performed over 800 open Medial Gastric Bypasses, Duodenal Switch and Revisions. He also specializes in Abdominal Wall Reconstruction (Tummy-Tuck) after massive weight loss. Dr. Srikanth was among the first surgeons in the Puget Sound area to implant the Lap-Band on August 15, 2001 after FDA approval. His team has reported the best three year percent excess weight loss result (72%) with the Lap-Band device in the US- Obes Surg 13 (2): 275-280, Apr 2003. Dr. Srikanth was the first surgeon to perform the Laparoscopic Medial Roux-en-y Gastric Bypass using the jejunal interposition technique - presented at the International Federation for Obesity Surgery (IFSO) meeting, Sydney, Australia, Sep 2006.
